BIO

Olivia Guyodo is a Ph.D. student in History specializing in genocide studies. Her research examines genocide by attrition and the environment, with a focus on how environmental conditions, resource deprivation, starvation, disease, displacement, and landscapes can be weaponized to make survival increasingly difficult during genocidal violence. Her current research focuses on the Armenian and Assyrian genocides of the late Ottoman Empire.

Olivia holds three master’s degrees from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, including two in Art History and one in International Politics. Her broader research interests include genocide, environmental history, memory and identity, displacement, and cultural heritage.
