BIO
Emily is a Ph.D. student studying 19th and 20th century American history as well as ethnic studies. She is particularly interested in the history of immigration and issues of citizenship, whiteness, and transnational identity. Her research is centered on emigrants from Empires at the end of the 19th Century and the communities they created in Nebraska. Emily received her B.A. in history from Creighton University in 2022. Before beginning her studies at UNL, Emily worked as a research assistant for the Roots of Justice project, researching the experience of Asian-Americans in Nebraska.
