BIO
Colten Skinner is a Ph.D. candidate advised by Dr. Alexander Vazansky. His research interests include American influence in postwar Europe, transatlantic capitalism and consumerism in the second half of the twentieth century, the Cold War, and the early developments of neoliberalism in the United States and Europe. Colten received his M.A. in history from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022.
His dissertation explores the influence of the American advertising industry on the development of neoliberalism and postwar consumer cultures in Western Europe in the 1950s and 1960s.
