BIO

Miriam Nieto López is a first-year history master’s student and the advisee of Dr. James Garza. She received her BA in 7-12 Social Sciences and K-12 English as a Second Language from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Miriam is currently focusing on the literary works and organizations of Middle East immigrants to Mexico during the 1880s-1950s. Miriam is also obtaining a specialization in Ethnic Studies as her research involves various ethnicities intermingling with each other, sometimes clashing. Her specialization also stems from her passion for advocacy, social justice, and human rights.
