Graduate Resources

Small enough to give you personal attention. Large enough to provide intellectual stimulation.

With about 25 faculty, our department offers an ideal learning environment. Our faculty members have written over 100 books and hundreds of articles and won dozens of awards for research and teaching. We take graduate education seriously and devote time to mentor our graduate students. You can count on an array classes in diverse fields that enable you to gain breadth in your education.

Preparing you for the jobs of the 21st century

Our program prepares students for teaching and research positions at the full range of higher education institutions as well as within museums, consulting firms, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and the publishing industry. We emphasize the development of professional skills and teaching experience in addition to intensive research. We offer cutting-edge training in digital history.
