Chuck Pool ('80) is Assistant Athletic Director/Athletic Communications at Rice University. He guides athletic communications and publicity efforts for the Rice Owls and serves as the primary contact for football and tennis. Before that he ran his own public relations company, Laysan Communications, and worked for the Houston Astros.
While at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Pool majored in history and journalism. He played freshman football in 1977, served as a student assistant in the Huskers' Sports Information Director department, and was named Publications Coordinator/Sports Information Assistant after he graduated. Pool's contributions helped Husker Athletics earn several awards, including a Heisman Trophy and 10 consensus All-America selections in football.
