BIO

William is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate studying slavery, fugitivity, and freedom in Maryland during the era of the War of 1812.

William is currently a Larmore Fellow at the Maryland Center for History and Culture, and a Dean’s Fellow through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

William has completed internships at the White House Historical Association, the National Willa Cather Center, the Durham Museum, the Lincoln Airport Authority, and the University Archives at UNL.

William is also the project lead for the Network to Freedom’s “Claiming Freedom” project through the National Park Service.
