"The Art of Dissent," a documentary film from James Le Sueur, professor and chair in the Department of History, was named Best Feature Documentary at the Big Apple Film Festival on November 16.
This is the fifth award the film has earned, in addition to recognition by NUTech Ventures.
The festival showcases and promotes films from New York City's independent film community as well as films from across the country and around the world. Awards are presented annually.
Le Sueur co-produced and directed the film, which explores the role of artistic activism during Czechoslovakia's communist takeover and nonviolent transition from communist power.
