Congratulations to Kenneth Winkle for the recognition he received from the Wall Street Journal.  Michael Burlingame  listed what he considered to be the top five books about Abraham Lincoln.  Number 2 on the list is Dr. Winkle's The Young Eagle (Taylor, 2001). Burlingame wrote, "Kenneth J. Winkle mined public records (census date, voting returns, legislative roll calls and the like) to compose a strikingly original study that locates Lincoln the context of his time and place."
