Svetlana started her academic career in Perm State University, Perm, Russia, where she studied English Language and Literature, Translation and Methodology of English language teaching. She went on to study American history at UNL and is now on a Ph.D. track. Interested in American and Russian History, Svetlana's special interests include social history, history of secondary education in Russia, and history of everyday life.
