After graduating from Truman State University, where he worked at the Sixteenth Century Journal, Paul Strauss taught high school social studies in rural Missouri for two years. His specializations are early modern Europe and the German Reformation. His research examines sermons and preaching, especially the construction of confessional identity in sermons about Turks and Jews in early modern Germany.
